Jade Marjurum was at St Peter's School in Burnham she came here one day a week on the schools progression programme and had a work placement in a salon for a few days of the week while she attended school for 1 day, when Jade left the school programme in June 2008 she then progressed onto our Work Based Learning programme working towards her NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing qualification, where Jade has excelled, she is progressing so well she should hopefully finish earlier than planned, Jade has shown complete commitment and dedication since she has been with us here at Central and we cant wait to see her grow even more.
Q: How well did you enjoy school before coming to Central to work ont he schools programme?
"I didn't really enjoy school that much I didn't really find a subject that I really was interested in until I was in year 9 where they offered me to do the school programme"
Q: What did you enjoy most about the schools programme?
"I enjoyed the schools programme because I found something I was interested in, I has always wanted to do hairdressing and this programme helped me to learn more to set me up for my NVQ L2"
Q: How have you found the support from your School/Salon/College?
"The support was great, my salon taught me loads and pushed me on so now I am enthuasitic in becoming a successful hairdresser"
Q: How are you finding Work Based Learning?
"Im finding the course is very good and I am enjoying learning and being at college, as I get to do clients and models hair and am progressing to become a stylist, I also like being at work because I am getting experience in a salon watching other stylist."
